As a child I was always painting and sketching. I pursued Art throughout school and went on to complete a BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design - receiving a Distinction grade. Although I loved Fine Art and Painting, I specialised in Fashion and Textiles because I was fascinated with Colour, Pattern and the tactile nature of Fabrics. I also really enjoyed Fashion Illustration and Drawing. Four years later, in 2002 I graduated from Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design with a BA (hons) in Fashion Design with Marketing.
My entrepreneurial nature led me to set up a Fashion Label and subsequently start up my own Ecommerce Retail Company. The clothing label spanned everything from fashion design, pattern cutting and manufacture through to promotion and I endeavour to post some examples of past photoshoots on this blog as part of an archive of my work. The retail company involved business management, marketing communications, buying, web wesign and various visual communications skills. These experiences were fantastic but I reached a point where I was too far from my creative calling. I stopped to have children and to re-focus.
I am now returning to my passions of Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design, Illustration and the Visual Arts in various forms. I use Adobe Creative Suite software and am on a constant learning curve.
